The Fed Says It’s Fighting Inflation—Don’t Believe It
The Federal Reserve says it’s committed to fighting inflation. But do its actions actually support that claim?
In this new video, Mike Maharrey examines the growing disconnect between what the Federal Reserve says and what it actually does.
While Fed Chair Kevin Warsh continues to promise price stability and a strong commitment to lowering inflation, the Federal Reserve has held interest rates steady despite inflation remaining above its long-term target.
Meanwhile, the central bank continues expanding its balance sheet through Treasury purchases—a form of quantitative easing that injects newly created money into the financial system.
If the Federal Reserve is truly committed to fighting inflation, why do its monetary policy decisions appear to move in the opposite direction?
This analysis explores how Federal Reserve policy, inflation, interest rates, quantitative easing, money creation, and balance sheet expansion could impact the U.S. economy, the U.S. dollar, gold prices, silver prices, precious metals, and long-term investors looking to preserve purchasing power.
At Money Metals, we believe investors should focus on what central bankers actually do—not simply what they say.
Understanding Federal Reserve policy is essential for anyone following inflation trends, the economy, monetary policy, gold investing, silver investing, precious metals markets, wealth protection, sound money principles, and the broader financial outlook.
Watch the full video to learn why the Federal Reserve’s actions may tell a very different story than its public statements—and why that matters for anyone concerned about inflation, interest rates, investing, financial news, the future of the U.S. dollar, and protecting long-term wealth.
Brought to you by Money Metals, your trusted source for news and analysis on the Federal Reserve, inflation, gold, silver, precious metals, investing, wealth protection, sound money, the economy, and the financial forces shaping the future.

If you have a choice between believing the video or the audio, believe the video. In other words, if a person is saying one thing but doing another, believe what they’re doing. For instance, the new Fed chairs this. His central bank is going to be tough on inflation. After the July meeting, March insisted, you’ve heard this before, but we will deliver price stability. But what does the Fed actually done to deliver said price stability? Nothing, despite price inflation running well above the mythical 2% target for several years. The Fed decided to hold rates steady for the fifth straight meeting. That does not look like a central bank aggressively tackling inflation. On top of that, the Fed is running QE, expanding its balance sheet by buying Treasuries with money created out of thin air that gets injected into the economy. That is, by definition, inflation. So, yeah, Marsh talks a good game, but he hasn’t done a lot. Remember, believe the video. For more Money Metals content, please like and subscribe to our channel.
