Renowned entrepreneur, AI futurist, and speaker Hajj Flemings will give a presentation at HFC titled, “Leveraging AI for Entrepreneurial Innovation” on Wednesday, September 30, from 12:30 to 2:00 p.m.) in the Small Business and Entrepreneurship Hub (Room E-146) on the first floor of the Technology Building (Building E on the main campus).
Doors open at noon; arrive early so you can be sure to get a seat.
This is one of several events in the Small Business Workshop Series at the Entrepreneurship Hub during the Fall 2026 semester.
Flemings —an alumnus of Michigan Technological University, where he earned his bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, and Lawrence Technological University, where he earned his MBA — is an AI futurist and architect, author, businessman, and global keynote speaker. His focus is how humanity thrives in the age of artificial intelligence. His mission is to make AI accessible to 1 billion people.
He is the founder and CEO of REBRANDX, which is based in Detroit and Miami, where leaders, creators, builders, and organizations come to think, grow, build, and upgrade their operating system in the age of AI. REBRANDX focuses on innovation-driven economic development, helping small businesses and local neighborhoods transition into tech-enabled and brand-enabled innovation districts.
Flemings’ body of work spans two decades at the intersection of brand, culture, and technology. He has partnered with Cadillac, Nike), the Walt Disney Company, AT&T, JPMorgan Chase, and the Detroit Pistons. He has led international AI and fashion trade missions with the U.S. Department of State and the Michigan Economic Development Corporation.
Flemings also has spoken at the White House, Harvard University, and the U.S. Department of Defense. He hosts CBS News Detroit’s Tech Talk and has been featured on CNN’s Black in America (4). He is the author of The Brand YU Life and The Future of Intelligence: Designing the New Era of Human Genius & AI.
Shaping conversations around AI, innovation, and the future of work

Hajj brings a unique ability to make emerging technology relevant, accessible, and connected to the opportunities ahead of us,” said HFC business and entrepreneurship instructor Selina Thomas.
Thomas expressed her gratitude toward HFC’s top leadership, particularly Dr. Patricia Chatman, Dean of the HFC School of Business, Entrepreneurship, and Professional Development (BEPD). “All of them recognized the importance of bringing a global keynote speaker of this caliber directly to our campus,” said Thomas. “Experiences like this demonstrate our commitment to ensuring that our students and community are not simply observing the future of AI, but are informed, inspired, and prepared to participate effectively in it.”
